Dr. Sue Migliore is an assistant professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program since 2014. She received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from The University of Connecticut. She received a Master of Science Degree in advanced clinical practice in physical therapy from Quinnipiac College (now Quinnipiac University). Her transitional doctorate in physical therapy was earned from Temple University. 

Clinical Experience/Expertise

Dr. Migliore has over 25 years of clinical experience, working with adults and children in Level 1 trauma centers, rehabilitation units and outpatient clinics. She is an ABPTS board certified pediatric clinical specialist and has worked exclusively with children over the past 18 years. Her areas of clinical expertise in pediatrics include developmental delay, torticollis, spasticity management and serial casting, orthotic prescription, post-concussion care and wound/burn care. 

Teaching Responsibilities

Dr. Migliore’s teaching responsibilities occur throughout all three years of the curriculum. Her primary teaching responsibilities are for PT 641 Differential Diagnosis and Intervention: Pediatrics and PT 661 Clinical Reasoning 2 with a pediatric pro bono clinic. She is a co-instructor in PT 520 Foundations of Patient Care 1, PT 620 Foundations of Patient Care 2, PT 642 Differential Diagnosis and Intervention: Adult Neurology, PT 660/PT662: Clinical Reasoning 1&3 and a lecturer in PT 541 Differential Diagnosis and Intervention: Lower quadrant and PT 740 Special Populations. 

Scholarship/Research Interests

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Migliore is a faculty mentor for student research projects. Current projects include serial casting for idiopathic toe walking and cost-benefit analysis of utilizing physical therapy as an initial intervention for low back pain. In addition to these projects, Dr. Migliore also has an interest in concussion management in adolescents.


When not in the classroom or clinic, Dr. Migliore enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.  She is an avid sports fan and travel softball coach.
