Dr. Kellen Gracey joined the DeSales political science faculty after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa.

His research interests include religion and politics, electoral systems, and political behavior in both American and comparative contexts.

His recent work examines:

  • the consequences of adopting preferential voting reforms and compulsory voting laws;
  • the role of emotions in shaping attitudes about candidates;
  • and how subnational variation in religious diversity shapes politics in the states.

Dr. Gracey enjoys grappling with methodological and research design questions. He is looking forward to engaging students with the social science research process.

His research is routinely presented at professional conferences across the country, and he is excited about the opportunity to collaborate with both students and colleagues alike here at DeSales University.
