DeSales to Host Lecture by Pennsylvania Secretary of Health

DeSales University will host Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Karen Murphy for A Status Update of Healthcare in Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the University Center on DeSales’ main campus in Center Valley. The lecture, presented by the University’s Division of Business and Department of Nursing & Health, is free and open to the public.

PA_Sec_Karen_MurphyMurphy has an extensive background in the health care industry. Prior to becoming secretary of health, she served as director of the State Innovation Models Initiative, which aims to accelerate health care innovation across the nation. She also served as president and chief executive officer of the Moses Taylor Health Care System. She is currently a clinical faculty member in the medicine department at The Commonwealth Medical College, as an author and national speaker on health policy and health care innovation.
