Nursing CCNE Celebration

On Wednesday, August 24, the DeSales University Department of Nursing celebrated its attainment of accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The accreditation action is effective as of Fall 2015 and extends to June 2021.

A reception was held at 4:00 p.m. in the DeSales University Conference Center. During the reception, speakers, including Fr. Bernard O’Connor, president of the University, Dr. Karen Walton, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, Dr. Robert Blumenstein, dean of undergraduate education, and Fr. Peter Leonard, OSFS, dean of graduate education, spoke about the dedicated faculty and outstanding reputation of the DeSales Nursing Programs since the inception of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1974.

Students, faculty and staff mingled, enjoyed music, food and games, plus a visit from the DeSales Bulldog. Students also participated in a free raffle drawing for a gift basket donated by Mike Adams with Java Medic Coffee.
