The Lehigh Valley Molecular and Cell Biology Society to Hold Second Annual Research Symposium

College students across the Lehigh Valley will show off cutting-edge scientific research during The Lehigh Valley Molecular and Cell Biology Society’s annual meeting and research symposium on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at the DeSales University Center. 

The event will feature 40 student poster presentations, showcasing research that’s being done by colleges and universities in and around the Lehigh Valley.

richard_veechDr. Richard Veech (right), a world-renowned expert on metabolic control, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Veech, a senior investigator at the National Institutes of Health and author of countless scientific publications, will discuss “Ketone Bodies as Therapeutic Agents.”

DeSales faculty members Dr. Lara Goudsouzian and Dr. Josh Slee founded The Lehigh Valley Molecular and Cell Biology Society (LVMCBS) in 2016. The organization provides a forum for students to disseminate their research and promotes open communication and collaboration between faculty and students at regional colleges and universities in eastern Pennsylvania.
