Assistant Professor - TV/Film Department
Born in Michigan and raised in southeastern Pennsylvania, Mike Wagner worked for almost a decade in Physical Therapy before his passion for film blossomed into a career. Since 1998, Mike has freelanced far and wide in the TV/film industry, primarily in camera and editing departments. As an independent filmmaker, he has set loose upon the world dozens of narrative short films, music videos and documentaries. Mike graduated from Florida State University in 2005 with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Narrative Film Production. The conservatory’s accelerated production schedule enabled him to experience nearly every department and crew position on more than 60 short films, while he focused on directing and editing. Mike continues to explore filmmaking and evolve as a visual storyteller with such an inclusive approach. Before arriving at DeSales, Mike taught film studies and video/filmmaking part-time, while he continued to work on industry and independent projects. He is very pleased to be joining the community of scholars and professionals at DeSales University.
