Hobbies: Wine-making, disc-golfing, going to concerts, and going to the beach.
Favorite Music: Classis Rock & Alternative; some of my favorite bands are The Doors, The White Stripes, Sublime, and Led Zeppelin.
Courses I Loved: Strategic Cost Management, Federal Income Taxation, and Legal Environment of Business.
Biggest Achievement: As an orphan, I supported myself through college while making Dean's List every semester and holding several jobs and internships.
Biggest Disappointment: I went home every weekend during college to see my boyfriend. Looking back, I really wish I would have stayed on campus more and gotten involved with more activities.
Career Goals: I would like to become a CPA in the next few years; and ultimately become a partner at a mid-sized CPA firm.
Influential People: Without my parents, I relied heavily on other family members for support throughout my college experience. My grandmother, my sister, and my boyfriend were always there for me. Steve Liedtka was very helpful in guiding me towards achieving my career goals. Dr. Hojjat taught me a lot and inspired me to dual major in finance. And working with Joyce Rhoads in the business department taught me a lot about working in an office environment.
Favorite Quote: "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do" - Confucius
Biggest Challenge: Realizing my own potential.
Best Advice Received: Intern in your chosen career field at least once.
Advice I Would Give: Practice for interviews and visit career services!
Toughest Obstacle I Overcame: Interning during tax season while also taking a full course-load and preparing tax returns on the side.
What I Liked Best About DeSales: The faculty and staff are so friendly and so willing to help; all you have to do is ask.
What I Miss Most About DeSales: Seeing friends everyday.
What I Miss Least About DeSales: Homework, exams, and walking across campus carrying textbooks.
Advice for Present DeSales Students: Enjoy your time at DeSales; it goes by faster than you think.
