Scope:

The Dean of Graduate Education is responsible for the following degrees which are offered in the traditional classroom setting, hybrid format, and entirely online:  Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Education, Master of Science in Information Systems, and Master of Arts in Criminal Justice.  The Dean is responsible for the leadership, promotion, and growth of graduate education, including long-term strategic planning, market research on trends and opportunities for new and existing graduate programs, and the establishment and attainment of student recruitment goals and targets, as well as oversight of the assessment of student learning and program effectiveness, and the administration, accreditation, and budgeting of the graduate programs.  Working with graduate healthcare program directors, the Dean is also responsible for the Healthcare Simulation Center.

Qualifications:

• Graduate degree required, doctoral or terminal degree preferred

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in leadership roles with experience in academia and/or organizational leadership

• Knowledge & experience of higher education and/or graduate education administration

• Ability to research, establish and support new graduate programs

• Extensive experience in marketing and management of graduate-level degree programs to include advertisement, recruitment, and budgeting of existing and new programs

• Extensive experience in hybrid and online course formats

• Demonstrated knowledge in understanding the financial and budgetary impacts related to enrollments, endowments, cost/value ratios, and salaries

• Knowledge and successful experience with the assessment of student learning and program effectiveness

• Evidence of strategic planning within an academic environment with the ability to lead change

• Ability to create vision and lead thoughts, ideas, and visions into reality

• Demonstrated ability to encourage, collaborate, and support colleagues, students, and families in positive ways

• Ability to mentor others with understanding, gentleness, and empathy

• Demonstrated ability in expanding the reach and reputation of the University through personal networking, knowledge and experience

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, mediate, and resolve issues quickly

• Experience with the accreditation process

• Preference given to applicants with doctorates in business and healthcare

• Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability, and diversity

• Dedicated to the mission of a Catholic, liberal arts institution
