Effective immediately and in accordance with Pennsylvania Act 153, all new faculty and staff at DeSales University whose position with the University has been determined to potentially have direct contact or routine interaction with individuals under 18 years of age must successfully complete a background check, including a Criminal History Report from the Pennsylvania State Police, a Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services and a fingerprint based criminal history submitted through the FBI as a condition of employment. Additional background checks may be required based on the specific requirements of the position.

 Position: Assistant Coach: Men’s Track & Field

Type: Part Time Non-Exempt

Location: Athletics

 Scope:

DeSales University is an NCAA Division III member. The Assistant Coach for Track and Field is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of recruiting, field maintenance, on-campus visits, camps and clinics. Recruiting will consist of managing recruiting efforts, including recruiting database (FrontRush), scheduling campus visits, emails and phone calls. Incumbent’s area(s) of coaching expertise will be utilized within the needs of the coaching staff.  Incumbent will also develop and maintain a professional working relationships not only with the coaches in the Athletic Department, but also with members of the University’s Admissions staff.

 Qualifications:

• Attention to NCAA rules and policies required

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Previous playing experience and coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred

• Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability and diversity

• Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution
