The Bachelor Of Science in Chemistry represents an intensive study of chemistry within a liberal arts setting. The primary goal of this course of study is to provide the student with a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge in the traditional areas of inorganic, organic, analytical, physical, and biological chemistry. Attainment of this goal is enhanced by the experience and dedication of our faculty. In addition, the program is housed in our new state-of-the-art Hurd Science Center which includes student-friendly teaching and research laboratories equipped with a full range of modern analytical instrumentation.
Beyond the classroom, additional curriculum options are available to enhance the professional experience and, ultimately, the career potential of our graduates. These include faculty-guided research as well as both teaching and industrial internships. An active Natural Science club helps students further their interest in science and develop leadership and "people" skills important to today's scientist.

Students may also pursue a Bachelor Of Science in Chemistry with a Concentration in Forensics by taking all of the required courses for the B.S. in Chemistry and adding courses in Molecular and Cell Biology, Forensic Psychology, Forensics and Criminal Investigation, Toxicology, Antisocial Behavior, and Statistics.
Teacher Certification in Chemistry for Secondary Education requires all of the courses required for the B.S. in Chemistry with the addition of course in Basic Educational Foundations, Curriculum and Instruction I, Educational Psychology, Teaching Science in the Secondary Schools, Introductory Biology, the Chemistry Values Seminar, and a Supervised Student Teaching Experience.
